Your exciting day begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Cairo, where you will head to the Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Here, you will explore the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest and oldest of the three pyramids. You will also have the opportunity to visit the Pyramid of Khafre, which is still capped with some of the original casing stones, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, the smallest of the three. While at the pyramids, you can enjoy breathtaking views and take amazing photos of these ancient structures. A stop at the Great Sphinx will allow you to marvel at the colossal limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of Pharaoh Khafre, while your guide explains its mystery and significance.
Next, you will journey to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. Here, you’ll visit the open-air museum, where the stunning Colossal Statue of Ramses II stands as the highlight of the site. This giant statue, originally placed in the temple of Ramses II, offers a glimpse into the grandeur of Egypt’s New Kingdom era. You’ll also get to explore the remains of the ancient city of Memphis, which was once one of the most important cities in the pharaonic world.
